Care Tips
- Open Zippers Fully: Open any zippers fully before folding the bag to avoid stress on the zipper.
- Pack Canvas Tightly: Roll up the canvas tightly to minimise movement during travel and prevent rubbing and holes in the canvas.
- Protect Metal Parts: Use lanolin spray on brackets and metal components to protect against surface rust.
- Maintain Waterproofing: Apply canvas reproofer spray regularly to maintain waterproofing.
- Check Bolts Regularly: Check bolts regularly, as they may loosen during travel.
- Clean After Every Trip: Inspect and clean after every trip: Brush off dirt and debris with a soft brush. Use lukewarm water and mild, non-detergent soap for canvas or fabric. Rinse thoroughly and air-dry completely before packing.
- Manage Condensation: Wipe down interior condensation before packing. Always ventilate and use moisture absorbers to assist with condensation.
- Prevent Mould: Fully dry the tent before storing, ideally in a shaded, well-ventilated area. If wet or condensation forms, set up the tent at home or partially open it to dry completely. Use a fan in humid conditions to speed up drying.
- Maintain Zippers: Clean zippers with a soft brush to remove sand or dust. Apply silicone-based lubricant or wax to keep zippers smooth. Open and close fully when packing.
- Check Mounting Hardware: Before and after trips, tighten bolts, brackets, and rails.
- Prevent Rust: Apply lanolin spray or rust-preventive lubricant to metal parts (ladders, hinges) every 3–6 months. Clean with fresh water after coastal trips.
- Pack Securely for Travel: Fold the tent tightly and secure in its cover to prevent rubbing or tears. Use extra tie-down straps on corrugated roads.
- Store Properly: Keep in a dry, well-ventilated, shaded area, elevated off the ground. Use a breathable cover if stored on a vehicle.
- Avoid Overloading: Do not exceed the tent's maximum weight capacity to prevent structural damage
